London, - Citizens Rights Watch, non-governmental organization dedicated to promote and protect citizens' rights worldwide, has completed country report on Kingdom of Cambodia.

This country, one of the leaders in the world’s garment industry, is still recovering from tumultuous events that happened in the past decades. Regime of Khmer Rouge left serious consequences to the complete educational system, which influenced in growing mismatch between the skills of the workers and demands by employers.

In December 2013, Government of Cambodia increased the minimum wage to $100 a month, with the addition of $5 for healthcare benefits. However, the minimum wage for garment factory workers is still insufficient to cover basic expenses, which contributes to poor health and other human rights concerns.

This report focuses on healthcare, education, employment, housing and dignity of individual and discovers very interesting facts such as forced evictions and economic land possessions. Cambodian Government provides opportunities for large business and tycoons to build on other people’s land, without giving them fair compensation or adequate alternative land to live on.

“We need to advocate rights of these people”, said Stefan Teodosić, Member of CRW Trustees Council, “In addition to violation of property rights, Cambodian citizens and human right defenders are faced with targeting, harassment, charges with criminal offenses and politically motivated persecution for raising voices against oppressive government policies.”

Citizens Rights Watch is independent organization dedicated to standardize citizens' rights of world countries. By focusing international attention to cases of ignorance and violation of citizens' rights, it gives voice to governments to bring benefits justice to citizens around the world.
